The event will hold at its usual venue, Spice Route, Victoria Island, Lagos. It’ll be anchored by Spanky while Dj Consequence will be on the wheels of steel.
They’ll be joined by other pop stars and friends including Lil Kesh, Davido, Phyno and others.
That Instagram millionaire pose when you know over a million #Bellovers got your back. Photo: Instagram
‘Godwin’ hitmaker, Korede Bello has reached ONE MILLION followers on Instagram. He surpassed early comers including D’banj {734k}, Chidinma{963k}, 2face {996k}, Phyno{882k}, Yemi Alade{544k}, Banky W{702k}, M.I Abaga{541k}, Flavour {499k}, Kcee{831k}, Waje{473k} and more.
The 20-year-old has emerged youngest Nigerian musician with highest Instagram followers.
The likes of Seyi Shay {343k}, Adekunle Gold {348k}, Cynthia Morgan {352k}, Kiss Daniel {359k}, Skales {453k}, Falz {460k}, Lil Kesh {546k}, Runtown {560k}, Reekado Banks {687k} and others, are not even close.
And to think he joined the online mobile photo-sharing, video-sharing, and social networking service in mid-2013.
In addition, his video for ‘Mungo Park’ which was released 3 weeks ago has hit over one million YouTube views.
Orezi celebrated his 30th birthday 4 days ago and got some of his industry mates to party with him. Iyanya, Denrele Edun, Lil Kesh, Beverly Osu, Nancy Isime were among those who partied with him.
Wale joined Alaga Ibile, Reminisce on the remix of ‘Asalamalekun,’ the American rapper with his accent did better than what we heard on his remix with Lil Kesh on ‘Cause Trouble Part 2’.
Timi Dakolo
Timi Dakolo is fast becoming a legend with the way he’s approaching music from an evergreen angle. We totally fell in love with his new single, ‘The Vow,’ released to celebrate his wedding anniversary with his beautiful wife, Busola. The lyrics and his wonderful rendition on Cobhams Asuquo’s beat capture our hearts. If you are not careful as a lady, while listening to Timi Dakolo’s ‘The Vow’, you will want to question yourself for not marrying him (LOL). After he released ‘Iyawo Mi’ in 2014, ‘The Vow’ is another single that oozes love, promises and deep emotions. Watch the video to understand better. We Love It!
Harrysong.
Mr Songz fondly called Harrysongz, who successfully put the ‘Share the Gala, Share the Booze’ signature tune in our head, hits us with another addictive single ‘Baba For The Girls’ featuring his label mate, Kcee. First listening of ‘Baba for the Girls’ sounds off, but the more you listen to it, the more you catch the groove and eventually get addicted. Kcee’s appearance on the track was really not needed, but as a birthday song, we can say, Mr Limpopo celebrated with Mr Songz by featuring on the song. Harrysong really knows how to carry his fans along with his songs.
Baci.
Baci reaches out to Solidstar as they both duet on ‘100 Bottles’, a song that’s expected to kick off every party in town. With the soft beat produced by PBanks and resourceful strings by Fiokee, Baci didn’t make the wrong choice of artiste to feature on “100 Bottles,”. As usual, Solidstar dazzles on the easy-grooving jam. Baci’s new joint will make you nod your head steadily to its sweet rhythm, before you eventually get explosive as the DJ slides in other banging jams.
Skales, who has been wonderful over the years with many hit songs, is really working hard towards his forthcoming sophomore album and this can be appreciated on his new single, ‘I Want You’ which is also expected to be housed on the upcoming album, Skales hits us with the audio and clean visuals at the same time. Although, we now see more videos with full interpretation of the lyrics and imaginative visuals that tells a story to entertain, Skales failed to achieve this in the music video of ‘I Want You,’ shooting a music video with ladies shaking their butts and displaying their endowments is fast becoming archaic but, we still have to give kudos to Unlimited L.A for the visuals.
Morell.
With Morell’s solid ground in the music industry as arguably the leading rapper from the North, he’s released ‘Sarauniya’ which means ‘Queen’ in English Language, a beautiful song to soft-soap your crush or female friend. One can easily relate to ‘Sarauniya’ with the infusion of English language which makes the song more understandable and communicates across borders.
Pheelz.
YBNL’s in-house music producer, Pheelz is not just a creative sound engineer, he’s also a great singer. Having produced different street anthems for Olamide, Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold and more, the versatile producer threw out a wonderful ‘Adekunle Gold-inspired’ single christened, ‘I.J.N’. If you are conversant with Adekunle Gold’s style of music, you will understand how Pheelz infuses the ‘Orente’ crooner’s soft melodious touches on his new single that will give put you in the mood of worship. This is a beautiful piece from the YBNL’s camp.
Kida Kudz.
Kida Kudz is still in search of his next hit single as he follows up ‘Awo Lor’ with a CDQ-featured single, ‘Dab It’. Kida Kudz’ hustle is becoming real, two tracks in two weeks; we need to keep seeing Kida more than before, but, is he going to keep the pace going well? Kida Kudz and CDQ did pretty fine on ‘Dab It’.
Obesere has released few songs since he delved into hip-hop like Pasuma and he’s been improving since then. Obesere, who is also known as ‘Omo Rapala’, is one of the living fuji legends we have in Nigeria. His new single, ‘Ebelesua’ features Baddo Sneh otherwise known as Olamide. On this track, Obesere steps up his hip-hop game and sounds better than his previous tracks; ‘Ebelesua’ is really impressive.
Eedris AbdulKareem.
It’s been long we listened to songs that address social vices, songs that open our eyes to places we should look into, but fail to see what’s really happening in there. Eedris Abdulkareem raises our curiosities to a whole lot of things in ‘They Don’t Understand.’ Eedris Abdulkareem speaks to Mr President as an activist, freedom fighter on the song which he claims ‘is clinically packaged to mark the milestone of being a social crusader exposing/correcting the ills of the society, so that the youths and those concerns can change or make amendment.’
NOTE: Covers and Freestyles won’t feature on the weekly review.

Famous people have always made excellent salesmen. Presenting a familiar face is one of the fastest and easiest ways for companies to create brand associations in the minds of consumers. When a widely loved artist or a heroic sports figure endorses a product, that product gains immediate credibility.
Which makes one wonder why some artistes who have been consistently popular in the recent past seem not to be able to attract brands despite their mass appeal and wave-making hits.
Following the recent signing of ‘Aye’ hitmaker, Davido into the league of Pepsi ambassadors, which include Wizkid, TiwaSavage and Seyi Shay, here’s a look at 13 Nigerian music stars brands are ignoring despite their thrills in the industry.
Oritsefemi
He is one of the hottest Nigerian artistes for a couple of years now, with hit tracks including ‘Double Wahala’, ‘Body & Soul’ ‘Igbeyawo’, ‘Sukus’ and ‘Sexy Dance’. Despite allowing D’banj to promote products including Koko Garri and Beats By Dre headphones in ‘Double Wahala remix’ video – a move which shows he’s willing, the self-styled ‘Musical Taliban’ is yet to be looked upon by brands.
Niyola
A talented soulful singer, she seems to be the right person for commercial airlines and other transportation firms with songs titles like ‘Go on’ and ‘Last Bustop’ to sign endorsement deal with – but has none yet.
Terry G
The ‘Ginger Master’ has scored hits consistently for many years, touring both locally and globally. Yet, despite his energetic persona – his electrifying performance at Etisalat Campus Clique 2 years ago comes to mind – the singer is yet to be the face of a brand.
9ice
Once in the league of Glo ambassadors, the ‘Sugar’ singer has been neglected by brands for some years now, even though he still impresses fans with beautiful songs.
Wande Coal
Blessed with a unique voice, the former Mo’hits act recently dropped his second album to wide acclaim. His chart-topping skills however has seemingly gone unnoticed by brands and companies. Surely, the ‘Baby Hello’ singer is worthy to be a ‘superwoman’ again.
Sean Tizzle
Since the ‘Perfect Gentleman’ was dropped by MTN last year, following a deal worth N20m when he was signed in 2014, he’s yet to be picked up by another brand.
This may be due to allegations of ‘skin bleaching’ levelled against him by fans. Or maybe not.
Adekunle Gold
After successfully dropping hits back to back, from Sade to Orente to Pick Up, and now that he’s Ready, what are the brands waiting for?
Small Doctor
Small Doctor’s ‘Mosquitoes Killer’ and ‘Gbera’ – a popular song for Dog and Horse race speculators – should have been enough to get him an endorsement deal.
Alas, unlike Harrysong who sang ‘share the Gala, share the booze, the booze, the booze’ and got a deal, the deals seems not to be in the horizon.
Lil Kesh
You won’t believe the YBNL act and Headies nominee has NO brand endorsement, his ‘street credibility’ notwithstanding. Yes we’re shocked too.
Dr. Victor Olaiya
At 85, he’s arguably the oldest and most active highlife singer in the world after Bobby Benson passed away in 1983, E. T. Mensah in 1996 and Jerry Hansen, leader of Ramblers Dance Band of Ghana, who died in April 2012.
The remix of his hit song ‘Baby Jowo’ featuring 2face Idibia in 2013, baba is yet to be signed up by a brand.
Illbliss
As one of the most hardworking rappers in the country, ‘Oga Boss’ from the eastern side of Nigeria deserves that bank alert, Chukwu agozigo gi…
Runtown
Walahi he’s been making Bangers from Lagos To Kampala and several others. He’s had a couple of hits to his credit in recent years and any brand that partners with the 26-year-old singer will surely become more Successful.
Saheed Osupa
The self-acclaimed king of Fuji music is nowhere close to his acclaimed rival Pasuma, and Alao Malaika when it comes to brand endorsements.
Multiple award-winning R&B superstar Banky W, international entertainer and pathfinder D’banj, global dance sensation Kaffy, West African Idols winner and singer Timi Dakolo, multi-talented viral entertainer Falz, fast-rising singer Simi, Project fame super alumnus Praiz, and YBNL disruptors Adekunle Gold and Lil Kesh have all been confirmed to lead conversations at this year’s event.
With some of Nigeria’s brightest minds in music, film, media, tech, and government serving as speakers and panelists at this year’s conference, you can attend any and all of the seven main sessions, as well as the breakout sessions.
Ayeni Adekunle
According to the Conference chairman Ayeni Adekunle: ‘We’re gathering to tell and show the world how the creative industry can help save Nigeria’s economy, in the light of all that’s happening. Our music speakers and panelists will drive the conversation using personal case studies, work experiences, and show how the music scene can be harnessed to add value in a non-oil economy.’

Tonight, Shina Peller’s Quilox night club will host rapper, Olamide and his YBNL crew to celebrate his return from his 2016 US tour.
Olamide has been out of the country for almost 2 weeks touring the United States and has just returned home.
He’ll be at Quilox night club tonight with his crew members including Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Pheelz, B-Banks, Viktoh, Chinko Ekun and others. They will be joined by other stars like Phyno, Ketchup, Davido and more.

Over the weekend, reports surfaced online that YBNL act, Lil Kesh is set to part ways with the Olamide-led record label.
While both parties have not spoken concerning the reports, here are some of the FACTS that we have:
In April 2014, Olamide signed up Lil Kesh and Viktoh. At that time, both were underground acts from his hood, Bariga.
(Viktoh and Lil Kesh when they were newly signed in April 2014)
Lil Kesh’s debut single ‘Shoki’ became an instant hit – so much so that just a few months after (November 2014), he was on stage with Davido and Olamide performing at the Channel O Music Video Awards.
Lil Kesh, Davido and Olamide performing at Channel O Awards.
Fast forward to June 2015, Olamide embarked on a Twitter rant to explain that he signed only 2 years deal with his new acts after which he hopes they’ll be good enough to stand on their own.
Not long after, Lil Kesh moved out from his mainland residence to a posh apartment in Chevron drive, Lekki.
He also set up a home studio where he finished the recording of his first album ‘Y.A.G.I’.
In March 2016, he officially released his debut album under the YBNL imprint.
Our source however confirms to us that indeed Lil Kesh is floating a label of his own that he intends to start as a movement.
We also gather that Lil Kesh and Olamide are in very good terms and his contract with YBNL already expired a few weeks ago.
Lil Kesh, according to our source, has been the one funding his project and music videos for a long time. ‘Olamide has been training them all to stand on their own and Kesh was the first to blow that’s why he’s the first to move on’, our source said.
Still fresh in the minds of fans is the Kanye West-like rant Olamide pulled at the Headies for two years in a row to protest against Lil Kesh losing the Rookie Of The Year Award to Reekado Banks in 2014, as well as the Next Rated Award in 2015.
Keshinro Ololade, popularly known as Lil’ Kesh, has confirmed initial reports that he is set to float his own record label, YAGI.
Following speculations over the past few days of Kesh’s departure from Olamide‘s YBNL imprint, the rapper has taken to social media to reveal the current situation of things with his contract and relationship with the label.
He disclosed that he was signed to the label for only two years, with the contract indicating that he releases a studio album and three musical videos.
Having met the contractual obligations, he has decided to take a new route with his musical sojourn by floating his own label to enable him discover and groom new talents as done to him by YBNL lead act, Olamide.
In the explanatory post, Kesh maintains he is still family with the YBNL camp as he is still under its management, and expressed gratitude for how he was handled during his time on the label.
‘If Baddo did not believe in me my talent will still be wasting in the streets,it’s only proper that i start believing in other people, it’s YBNL’s legacy. So if you think YAGI think YBNL think FAMILY’ he wrote .

In April 2014, Olamide signed up Lil Kesh and his debut single ‘Shoki’ became an instant hit, enabling him to go on stage to perform with Davido and Olamide at the Channel O Music Video Award in November of same year.
His debut album, YAGI (Young And Gettin’ It) released March 2016, is still enjoying massive airplay.
Our efforts to reach the YBNL camp for explanations proved abortive until a few moments ago when Lil Kesh took to Instagram to explain the situation of things, confirming that indeed his contract with YBNL expired 2 weeks ago and he’s floated his own label YAGI record but he still retains YBNL as his management company.
A photo posted by Mr Me YAGI (@lilkeshofficial) on
Not long after, Olamide also addressed the issue with an Instagram post of his own, stating that YBNL remains the management company of Lil Kesh and Viktor, whose contract with the label also ended weeks ago.
With the seemingly peaceful transition from YBNL records to floating his own label, YAGI by Olamide’s protege Lil Kesh, his fellow label mate, Adekunle Gold has said he’s already working on the official logo for YAGI records.
Working on the #YAGI logo! I’m going to have fun with this one.
Lil Kesh’s officially out of contract with YBNL and has floated his own YAGI records.
With news of Lil Kesh’s exit from Olamide’sYBNL record to float his own YAGI records, mixed reactions continue to trail the development on social media.
Oscar-winning actress, Lupita Nyong’o showed her fun-loving side as she and her friends on a cruise yesterday, April 25, gyrated to Lil Kesh‘s hit song, Efejoku.
The Kenyan native can be seen in the Instagram clip she shared busting her moves while grinning from ear to ear as the song blared out loud from the car’s stereo.
Lupita acknowledged the song’s creator as she simply captioned the clip, ‘West African Jammin’ on the West Side Highway. @eclipsedbway day off, here we come! #ridealong Lil Kesh’s Efejoku with @ladyzjah @vintagepopsoul @pascale_armand and @katiecm (Wife #5)’
A video posted by Lupita Nyong’o (@lupitanyongo) on
This marks another international recognition by a popular public figure for Kesh, as popular rap artiste, Missy Elliott had revealed she got inspired by the YAGI pioneer’s ‘Shoki’ in creating her dance moves for the visuals of her song, ‘Where They From’.
We know Queen B has declared open the Lemonade season, and while we are all fascinated by the miracle that is Beyonce, let’s not forget about some of our own i.e Papa Wemba, Lil Kesh and Brymo.
Not exactly sure which to dwell on first Lil Kesh and Lupita, or Lil Kesh as Judas. Hmmm…let’s start with the bad news, Lil Kesh as Judas.
Remember earlier this year when Olamide put his reputation on the line by throwing a tantrum because his ‘boy’ Lil Kesh was ‘cheated’ out of an award at the Headies? Well, turns out the reason for the 1st and still most epic (as far as we are concerned) celebrity beef of 2016, has just left the YBNL label. We don’t know why, but as far as we know, that’s a low blow Bro…
So what’s the moral lesson? You guys should figure that out yourselves.
On the flip side, it’s not all bad news for Lil Kesh, as Hollywood’s golden girl Lupita Nyong’o shared a video in which she was jamming to his song ‘Efejoku’, which made us think about sinners and redemption, amongst other things.
A video posted by Lupita Nyong’o (@lupitanyongo) on
Moving on, it’s no secret that Brymo is seriously underrated, (and it’s not his fault, let’s blame it on Chocolate City) but we are hoping that will change with his soon-to-be-released album ‘Klitoris’.
A photo posted by Olawale Olofo’ro (@brymolawale) on
Yeah you read that right, and we are hoping that for nothing else, the album title will make Nigeria pay attention. Plus the album art is pretty dope too.
Lastly, we wouldn’t want to blame Beyonce for this, but it won’t be wrong to say that because of her ‘Lemonade’ craze, Africa never truly got a chance to mourn legendary African Musician, Papa Wemba, who collapsed while performing in Ivory Coast.

Olamide earlier today shared a cryptic message on social media announcing the new signee saying;
I love music too much it gives me life , hope , lifts my soul ….. There’s ds girl dats soo good and her voice does all ds things .
